After visiting Everest Base Camp we continue driving to Darchen and arrive in Kailash in time for the Saga Dawa festival during the full moon day. Saga Dawa Festival is the most renowned festival in west Tibet. This festival is expected to last a month, during which a large number Tibetan pilgrims from all over the country come to sacred Mount Kailash region to celebrate it by performing various ritual activities and the most attractive of which is the circling around Mount Kailash for worship. During this festival, we can observe everyone reciting the prayers and playing with the holy beads. The entire region at this time is deeply engrossed in this festive in spiritual atmosphere. It is believed that Saga Dawa festival is celebrated to highlight the day when Sakyamuni (Buddha) attained the enlightenment!

Kailash Saga Dawa festival tour offers the most beautiful experience that everyone should have once in their lifetime. The most interesting thing to see of festival is replacing the Flagpole that lies on the way of Kailash around. Every year, this Flagpole is laid down and a new pole is erected in the place. This event is observed by all the locals and foreigners alike with wonder and awe. The whole event will be guided and ritually instructed by a local Lama (from the nearby monastery). It is tradition that the flagpole should stand straight or else it is believed to bring bad luck to Tibet.
