We did a 15 day trip to Tibet with Alpine Eco trek from Kathmandu going through Lhasa, Everest Base Camp and the Mt Kaialsh Kora. It was an amazing experience and very ably handled by our guides who had to think on their feet when a snowstorm hit and the Chinese authorities diverted us.
Tibet itself is another world but becoming much easier to travel through thanks to the new roads the Chinese are bringing in and I couldn't recommend enough making the effort to get out west to Mt Kailash. Once back in Nepal Alpine Eco Trek also handled buying our bus tickets and finding our porter so that we could do the Annapurna circuit for no extra charge than what the expenses were.
If you want great, friendly yet professional service then go see Ram and his team in Kathmandu, they'll make your trip to the Himalayas even more special!
We are french people ! My husband and I went to Nepal/Tibet four years ago. We asked Ram Kumar & his team to organise our 3 weeks trip : the famous Mt Kailash tour and the trek until the Everest advanced base camp ! First, during several months before the validation of the trip, we were impressed by the relationship by e-mail, the very clear answers to all of our questions, their way to find the best compromise and the sense of details... Then, arriving at Kathmandu, a warm welcome and a very good organisation lead by Ram, the incredible manager of the agency. We've had already in the past the experience with 3 other travel agencies at Kathmandu but this time, no comparaison, the service was there : a nice and quiet hotel in the heart of Tamel, our visa in time, always someone to look for us, no bad surprises during our trip. Mt Kailash tour, Manasarova lake & Everest aera are great places to visit ; furthermore we were lucky with the weather, sun every day but cold !
We warmly recommend this agency to our friends. Trust them, they will take care of you and will organise for you the best trip in Nepal, Buthan, Tibet and much more... always with smile and efficiency.
Me and my husband (Marie et Vincent from France), for the twice we used Alpine Eco Trek and Expedition. I can say, Ram Kumar (the manager) really did the best for us. Everything was perfect.
For the trek in Nepal side we had a very nice group (guide, cooker and porters). All of them a very friendly. our guide, Ramesh is really take care of us for everything. He was also so funny and friendly. For sure, for the next trek we hope to have him again.
About, Tibet, it was a really good surprised for us too, Ram Kumar organized everything well, we had a good guide (Yangkyi) and driver (Sonam, a really peaceful man). They do a good job and they do the best for us to feel confortable.

I could not be happier and truly think we were blessed to find Alpine Eco Trek and Expedition.
From speaking to Ram Kumar Ji six months before our trip, I knew this was going to be a memorable two and a half weeks. He give us all the information from the start and answered all of our questions to make sure we would be comfortable and well prepared. This was flawless execution of the thought-out, well-planned journey.
For me - it was not a trip. It was the journey of a lifetime.
The personal touch, great values, straightforward style all contributed to the excellent service. Ram Kumar Ji picked us up from and dropped us to the airport, had meals with us, ensured we were happy and comfortable in all accommodations, and made himself available at all times. He constantly strives to provide excellence. Any requests we had were met quickly and efficiently. There were no hidden fees or costs - no tricks. The entire time, he demonstrated honesty and integrity.
He made sure we had a great Tibetan guide, Dawa, and driver. Especially notable - one of the highlights of the trip was the accommodation Dawa secured in Manasarover, which was miles above what we had been expecting. Dawa, like Ram Kumar Ji, operated honestly and whole-heartedly. They both had the admirable ability to always communicate with a smile on their face, focusing on positives, and making sure they were going above and beyond our exceptions. We ended up being one of the few who managed to complete the Kailash kora on foot thanks to their attitude and guidance.
I cannot recommend this company enough and will be looking to use them in the future whenever I can.

A place in far away land located at the top of this world, a curious mind was anxious enough to find out what is so auspicious about this Reverend land. After making some initial queries with close friends, collecting valuable information, intriguing mind, of course, led us to contact a traveling agency involved in arranging the tours for this religious and pious place for certain religious pilgrims and for others a trekking experience. Getting in touch with this travel agency was a monumental discovery in itself. You may as well say in other words our initial queries; with our friends was a God send a gift to us. Memories of this trip are innumerable and filled with breath taking experience and will remain with us forever.
Our precious gift was our contact with a pure & gentle soul named Mr. Ram Kumar Adhikari of Alpine Eco Trek Expedition. Ram Kumar looks after your needs from start to finish in detail without leaving any stone unturned to make your journey comfortable, enjoyable and memorable.
Experiences such as a reception at the Tribhuvan Airport at Kathmandu Nepal, to hotel reception and services provided by the hotel staff, were impressive. Hotels are personnel employed along with managements were very courteous, helpful with extraordinary services during our stay. In reference to our minor issues, Ram Kumar Adhikari took care of our problem very swiftly. Whatever we encountered were resolved and taken care of right away.
This place at the top of the world known as Plateau of Tibet is a breath taking place out of this world. One has to see and experience personally what I am talking about. It not just for religious pilgrims, trackers, and hiker are equally attracted to this scenic and adventurous place.
One of the amazing quality of this gentle soul is politeness, helpful to you every step of the way, quick responder, to your queries, well mannered, without a wrinkle of anger on his forehead. All the guests visiting through his agency are looked after as if they are his family member. We personally experienced this hospitality with send-off was a surprise to us. His answers to our queries were efficient, transparent and to the point without any periphrasis. That is what we as foreigners visiting from far away foreign land was looking far. Ram Kumar showed no sign of any worry, always with ease, encouraging every one of us with a smile, words of wisdom and positive attitude until the last few hours before our boarding with China Air Line to Lhasa our boarding permit and visa arrived.
We (My wife &I) are very high praise of Ram kumara and sincerely appreciate for his wonderful and commendable services in stronger terms as humanly possible. Lhasa driver and the guide were both excellent making our (17 foreigners from Canada, USA, Russia, Nepal, Singapore and Holland) journey, safe jolly and smooth without any hitch anywhere what so ever. Exceptionally well organized and timely services provided by his organization. Information of any kind, the transitional experience went flawlessly. I would not hesitate to give you our personal experience if any one requires. It was absolutely a unique experience for us when we visited Kailash Mansarovar during our trip in June/2017. My only interest in writing this review is let no foreign traveler be misguided or taken for a ride by unscrupulous agencies or their managers. You can be assured you will be treated and looked after very well again depending on the weather conditions in this difficult terrine.

Most amazing travel company in Kathmandu. We just completed a successful trip to Mount Kailash with Alpine Eco Trek. We were a group of 13 people. What can I say about Mr. Ram Kumar and his crew? A short paragraph will not do them justice, amazing, genuine and extremely helpful. Right from exchanging tons of emails in order to plan every minute detail of the trip to the execution of the entire plan, everything was flawless. Mr. Ram Kumar was very prompt in responding to all my emails and questions. His crew took such good care of us during the entire trip and always had a smile on their face in spite of being tired. I would select Mr. Ram Kumar’s company Alpine Eco Trek in a heartbeat if I had to plan another trip in the Nepal Tibet region. When the overland route to travel to Tibet from Nepal did not open, Mr. Ram Kumar had the foresight to book the air tickets in advance to be ready for this eventuality. He made sure that we were able to complete our wish of being in Mansarovar on Shravan Purnima. Thank you Ramji, Ram Gopalji, Guruji, Kaji (for the delicious food) and Sujan. They all made our trip successful and memorable.
“I booked a tour from Australia over the internet with Alpine Eco Trek early last year 2010 to go to Mount. Kailash.
All organized tours with Australian companies were out of my budget. Therefore my only option was to book on line. At first I was not sure if Alpine eco trek was a genuine company but with many email correspondence with Ram Kumar I was satisfied that the company was genuine. I was only asked for a small deposit and full payment on arrival which made me feel comfortable. My trip was meant to be with a larger group, however on arrival to Nepal I was advised that there were not many people booked for the tour and that Alpine eco trek would still provide a tour and that I would be going with only two other people. This felt like a private tour with no extra charge.
Our Tibetan tour guide and driver were wonderful and I would have no hesitation in recommending him His name was Pintso. He looked after all of our needs 24/7 truly magnificent.
My only criticism was that there was no CO2 or other safety items advertised in our tour program provided and this made me feel very uncomfortable. When I asked our tour leader if he had any CO2 he did not and was not provided this by the Kathmandu drivers on transfer over the border. When I asked about the CO2 which was while we were on the trek, Pintso our tour leader went back to the last town Darchen which was 8km back and ensured that he obtained the CO2 just in case we needed it for the assent over the Drolma la Pass. I was unwell at the time and I was unsure if I would be able to make it over the assent Pintso stayed with me and held my hand over this section of the trek. I was very impressed with his compassion and services.
There seemed to be some confusion on who would be providing the equipment such as CO2 etc...
On our return to Kathmandu I mentioned this to Ram Kumar and I am hoping that this has now been fixed and that the tour to Kailash now has the equipment advertised in their tours.
Overall I would be happy to recommend Ram Kumar and his team for any tour and I will be using their services again on my next trip.
